Choosing whether to circumcise your son is a personal decision. At Living Waters Midwifery, our role is to provide evidence-based information, answer your questions, and offer safe, compassionate care for families who choose this procedure.

One of the unique aspects of our circumcision service is that it is performed in the comfort of your own home. There is no waiting room, no packing up your newborn, and no added stress of traveling with a young infant. Instead, we bring the care to you while maintaining the same standards of safety, sterile technique, and clinical excellence.

Before the Procedure

Before your baby's circumcision, we'll spend time discussing the procedure, including the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and make an informed decision that feels right for your family.

We'll also review what to expect during the procedure, how your baby will be kept as comfortable as possible, and what recovery typically looks like.

During the Procedure

Before beginning, your baby will receive a thorough assessment to ensure it is safe to proceed.

Throughout the procedure, your baby is carefully monitored, and comfort measures, including local anesthesia, are used to minimize discomfort. Every circumcision is performed using sterile technique, gentle handling, and careful attention to your baby's safety and well-being.

Parents are welcome to remain nearby throughout the procedure, and many families find the familiar surroundings of home to be a calming experience for both themselves and their baby.

After the Procedure

Following the circumcision, we'll review everything you need to know about caring for your baby's circumcision at home.

You'll receive detailed instructions on:

• Normal healing

• Keeping the area clean

• Comfort measures

• When to call with questions or concerns

Support doesn't end when the procedure is complete. If questions come up during your baby's healing, we're here to help.

Investment

Newborn circumcision is offered for $420.

This service is available by appointment and is not included in the Signature Home Birth Package.

Eligibility

Newborn circumcisions are typically performed beginning at 8 days of age. Before scheduling, we'll review your baby's birth history, overall health, feeding, weight gain, and ensure it's an appropriate time to safely perform the procedure.

Vitamin K is not required to schedule a circumcision with Living Waters Midwifery. During your consultation, we'll review your baby's individual history, discuss any questions you have, and ensure you have the information needed to make an informed decision.
